MAJEL BARRETT RODDENBERRY
February 23, 1932 - December 18, 2009

Majel, who had been a part of STAR TREK since the very first pilot, as First Officer "Number One". Passed away of Leukemia.
Born Majel Lee Hudec in Columbus, Ohio.

In 1969 she married Gene Roddenberry. Known as "The Great Bird Of The Galaxy" and had one son. Gene Jr. Known as Rod.

After Gene's passing. Majel was not idle. From the writing of her husband, help produce other sci-fi dramas as "Andromeda" and "Earth: Final Conflict". In EFC, she portrayed Dr. Julianne Belman.

In the "Next Generation", she had a part, according to Gene that was tailor made for Majel. The role of Lwaxanna Troi. Deanna Troi's eccentric mother. Her final role, was the computer voice in the new STAR TREK movie by JJ Abrams (LOST). Barrett-Roddenberry completed her "voice overs" before her death!

For many years. I had the honor and chance to meet her at a number of Sci-Fi conventions. Majel would spend a great deal of her time at her dealer's booth, LINCOLN ENTERPRISES, signing autographs and talking to friends and fans.

The First Lady of Star Trek, died quietly at 12:27 a.m. on December 18, 2008. Her Funeral was private, but a Public Memorial Service was held on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Forest Lawn in Hollywood.
